4l60e overdrive shudder. So, I recently replaced my old worn out 5.0 in my 1993 K1500. In doing this I "upgraded" to a 5.7 and replaced all of the contributing parts that I could find would be connected in some way to this upgrade. I have changed out the ECM to one out of a 1993 K1500 that had the 5.7 and 4l60e just as my truck does now.My reverse went out. I can drop 2k on a replacement or I can try to fix it myself. Let's see how it goes.First, drop the pan and check the fluid and filter. If the fluid is still reddish and doesn't smell burnt and the magnet and filter just has fine dust, no chunks, just replace the filter and refill the fluid.
