NSLS is basically a scam and useless. RPI offers multiple different honors and scholarships that are legit and that someone will actually care about if they're on your resume. Plus, the RPI name alone is often nice on one's resume.

There is no benefit in this for online people. I literally just used my work meetings to fulfill this requirement. In fact, NSLS does not validate your meetings so really, you can just make stuff up and send it in to NSLS for approval. After that and some intro things...you're in.
