It is very rural even though a short jaunt from Highway 1. We have seen foggy days, sand blown days, cold and blustery to still and hot.The Jalama hamburger from the Beach Store was very good. But the beach: I walked a couple miles south then back; was a lot of smelly seaweed and bird dung (assuming from the smell), but worst was the numerous clumps of tar/oil on the sand and rocks.
