I mined ~y level 20 in the mining dimension. Took about 30 minutes to find a couple of blocks. If you can find a peaks biome using the nature compass, do it. Go at night and hopefully the biome has peaks above y160. All the blocks will be exposed and glowing. Then set up an ore laser drill (Industrial Foregoing) in that biome with a yellow lens.

did all the mods 7 change the y level for all the modium ore? if so what is the new spawning conditions for it. They spawn only in desert biomes now. Same Y level. looking at the allthemodium ore in the JEI, it claims that allthemodium spawns in mountains biomes below y 20 and above y 170, have a geez.
