Just load your cookie clicker classic save there and your good to go! Curiously, it doesn't directly transfer your progress; your cookie count goes through, but your buildings are sold into cookies, presumably due to them being heavily rebalanced in the big update.

What you can do to avoid the issue some is make a copy of the save and just label it backup or something every week or so. Can find the saves in the resources\app\save folder. Or just save a copy of the export code on a text file every once in a while. Try using the cloud saves if you're using a legit copy.
