Lost sector drop rates.

Back when you could blow through a lost sector in a minute or two it was less of an issue, but now even an experienced player with a good build is going to spend 5+ minutes a run, and when drop rates are this low, you'll typically have an hour pass before you'll even see a single exotic piece, never mind the one you're farming for.TLDR- Average run time was 2:38, I had deaths on 5/36 runs, Average chest stat was 65.25, and the drop rate was 33%. IIRC- the old legend rate was 26%, so this is a nice bump. Legend lost sectors are fine, like you said, with the right loadout and mods you’ll be fine. But there’s been times when rng is just not on your side at all. This video is a bit outdated but really shows the severity of how bad the drop rates were. If you already have all the exotic armour in the world loot pool then you just get random rerolls of them.

It depends on the lost sector and how fast you can consistently clear that particular lost sector on each difficulty. The Master drop rate is higher, but it is not 2x as high. So, if you are clearing Legend in 5m and Master in 10m, running twice the number of Legend in the same time it would take to do Master will probably get you more drops ...Dropped for me on the 9th run - all run at 1300 level, not the top difficultly mode and all in a team of 2. Did lost sectors always say rare/common on legend/master mode? I haven't seen a comprehensive farm post-lightfall to compare drop rates to the supposed ~25%/+% we used to have. from what ive heard its 25% on legend and 30% on master. pretty sure you can rerun campaign on legend for the exotic.

That's just rng. They have always been horrible drop rates. Some people get two or three in 10 runs while others get one to drop in 20 runs. I've had days where I ran for an hour and got nothing, other days where I got what I wanted after three runs. Unlikely they change it, pretty sure it's the same as it was before.

Because the drop rates are the same for each lost sector. Some lost sectors can be done in under a minute, and bungie probably thinks 1 exotic / minute is too much. The drop rates are fine for the most part. The extra 10% bump in drop rate you get in masters is worth that extra minute. Legend is about 25%, Master is about 35%. Granted my sample size was low but I ran bay somewhere between 15-20 times and didn't get a single exotic drop. It should sit at 50% legend and 75% master and those drops would feel rewarding enough without breaking bungie's imaginary exotic economy.
