The last time I worked on an Odyssey sliding door motor, tightening the slack involved pulling on the two finger tabs that stick out from that white plastic "cable drum" (I don't have a better word for it) and rotating it to tighten both the fore and aft cables simultaneously. The sliding door works fine when the fuel door is closed or the spring loaded sensor is pushed in, but the release pin will not actuate under any circumstance (sensor pushed in, door shut, etc.).
