I have no info on how to take care of it and or what to do with it to keep it for as long as possible without killing it. The point of the story is that ebay will have the buyers back even if they are scamming the crap out of the seller. If you're being honest and this ps3 doesn't play ps2 games but it was advertised as a fully functional ps3 that did play ps2 games then the seller sold you a faulty item that was described incorrectly. The only real way to fix this is to clean the dust out and replace the thermal paste. It was manufactured in March 2007. Just bought it on eBay and when I turn it on, the fan gets waaaay too loud.
