An old Carcraft article said that Gear Vendors suggested using a 69-71 crossmember. I will find one today to compare to my 66 unit and see if it fits without notching. I will also try to find the correct plug size to eliminate the speedo drive on the TH400 and will post my findings for others. Thanks,

I doubt the 4L80E uses any more power than a TH400/GV combo. The Geare Vendor has an additional pump. The pumping losses of that probably negate or are worse than the OD section being in front of the main geartrain. My TH400 is already built to handle the power of my car and is much cheaper than a 4L80. For now I'll keep running my TH400 and 3.50 gears with a 30" tire. It cruises real nice on the freeway.
