Jul 12, 2022 · Faction - Battania Battanians have not changed much over the course of early access, they are still the best in ranged guerilla tactics. Their troops have been piling on armour over the course of early access, which helps keep Battanian kingdom in game for longer than previously. Battania has more varied infantry, they have the obvious melee/spearman line, the "Kern," line, and the Falxmen line. Sturgia gets their super heavy Shock Trooper and Veteran Infantry which are at the end of their line. IMO Battania is one of the best factions in the game, easily number 2 behind the Kkan's.Eliminate Vlandia/Battania/Sturgia. There's a certain point in the game's main storyline where you end up either facing three random non-Empire factions or the three Empire factions, depending on whether you choose to destroy the Empire or reunite the Empire. The quests will have a bar from -100 to 100.Currently rolling with a 30-man squad who are all tier 2-3. Small archer corps with highborn youth, infantry split into trained warriors (group 1), raiders (group 6), and skirmishers (group 5). Highborn youth post up behind trained warrior shieldwall. Battania is kinda messed up, because an army of fians or the lower tier variants will beat an equal sized army of pretty much anything, including a balanced fian army. It also doesn’t help that if you take the right perks that ranged units start costing negative upkeep. So they are cheaper while being more effective. So just go 50% cav 50% archers or 50% archers 50% infantry. (can use archers as shock troops) Spam Fian Champs and Wildlings, imo. I don’t use Batt Cav. But 60/40 of the above and you’re unstoppable.
