You can change the amount in the serverconfig. The configfile is located within the worldfolder. Navigate to the world you are currently playing. There should be a subfolder called "serverconfig" within this there is a file "ftbchunks.snbt". Just open the file and change the config you like it. You could try using the FTB Utilities chunkloading. Use the FTBU chunk claiming map, click to claim then Ctrl+click to chunkload. You will probably want to increase your chunkload limit in the config file like I did.
