Yes you can still do that. Idk i have not tried but they are cool. You can banish the Grimm Troupe starting once you get the Lv 3 grimmchild and ending once you beat Nightmare King Grimm. You might have to check back at the Nightmare Lantern. He might have gone there on his own if he's not at the hidden village.

I would banish, you can avoid the grimmkin nightmares, get a way better charm, a new NPC in dirtmouth, and you can still fight the boss immediately elsewhere. Just make sure you get all the unbreakable charms first.

Just to comment on the bosses, NKG was a way better boss than Troupe leader grimm. Here's my reasoning. It was easy to get by in the first fight without having to really learn his moves.
