From what I gather, forsaking Shar results in her getting white hair / different style. That hasn't happened for me despite sparing nightsong, defeating mother superior in Act 3, and letting shadowheart decide on what to do about her parents which resulted in her allowing them to pass away and turn into moon orbs.
