The Marlin will be easier to clean because all you have to do is unscrew the Thumb screw, tap the Receiver and it comes apart.

The Marlin 39 series is a fine rifle, and in some respects possibly better than the 9422, but overall I will pick up the Winchester over the Marlin almost every time.
