18 posts · Joined 2009. #6 · Apr 2, 2012. I own a 3.8 compact 9mm, 4.5 .40, and 5.25 9mm. The slides interchange and shoot on all of them. I have a springer precision trigger in the 4.5 frame and since it was fitted to my 4.5 slide, it is not as good of a trigger with a different slide. I have two 5.25 XDm's- one in 9mm and one in 40cal. I run the 9mm slide/barrel/spring on the 40 lower for 3 gun and have no problems at all. The 40 lower has a Powder River trigger, Pistol Gear magwell, and a Canyon Creek extended mag release.

Just make sure you are switching just XDm's in the same caliber. But you should be able to interchange the 9mm and .40S&W. I've heard that .45ACP's have bigger frames and slides.
